Over the weekend, the POP Crew and I were at the launch of SHINE Youth Festival 2011. It was the 7th run of the festival and as always it was in the hope that youths will continue to pursue their passions and talents with the platforms that are provided.

This year *SCAPE played host to the festival as more than 12,000 people gathered to witness an 8 hour long launch celebration which included lots of fringe activites as well as a COSMO Youth Parade which was kicked off by polling day internet sensation Mr Yam Ah Mee.

Since I was press for the event I had the chance to say hi to him and he was sporting enough to pose for a picture. Though we only exchanged a few words, you can tell that this guy is pretty sincere about being there.

He mentioned on the news before that he didn’t mind using his new found fame to encourage and inspire the youth of today and I think it’s working out so far.

We decided to be a little ambitious in covering this event as we went down with a 4 man team. There was me who was taking notes and mentally writing the article while Kenneth, Don and Nicholas took photos from 3 different angles covering upclose from the stage, about 5 to 10 metres away from the stage and all the way from the back at the soundboard.

Well the idea was to be able to bring more quality shots to you, the reader in case you were not there. I think it worked our very well although it was photo overkill for this event. We’re trying our best to keep improving for you so leave a shout out at our facebook page if you like it.
