This is a belated post of a present I got for Xmas. It’s a limited collectors edition of the Tron Evolution Game! I’ve tried to search Singapore for this but I only found it at one location. Other game shops don’t see to carry this, at least in Orchard Road anyway.
This collectors edition includes the Tron Evolution game of course and it comes with this display set which features the 3rd edition of the light cycle (The one you see in the Tron Legacy movie is the 4th edition).
The display set has a built in drawer where you can store the game which is pretty cool as well as a plastic cover to protect it from dust. It’s so impressive to me that I decided to make it the center piece of my room by putting it on top of my TV.
The Tron Evolution game is basically a prequel to the Tron Legacy movie, it tells the story of how the Grid and CLU came to be corrupted and why Kevin Flynn ended up stuck there unable to get back to the real world.
In terms of timeline, Tron takes place in 1982, Tron Evolution in the 1990s to 2000 and Tron Legacy in 2010. Although the game is a little short with 7 chapters in total, it is pretty challenging especially when you have to run on walls. The light cycle battles aren’t as easy as you think and you get to play with tanks as well.
This really was an awesome Xmas present!!!
