HBO Asia recently sent me 4 different parcels each containing an ingrediant to make a lemon cake. I was actually rather puzzled by this at first because it was meant to be part of the invite for the Game of Thrones media premiere at ION Sky. I mean I guess in the end I realised that it was actually a pretty cool way of inviting someone to an event. Even the guys at POPCulture Online were wondering what this was all about.
So I attended the premiere because I vaguely knew what the Game of Thrones series was about and I heard it was quite happening. Also I’ve never been to ION Sky….haha so since it’s a free trip up, why not right??? LOL!
There is a spectacular view from ION Sky which is on the 56th floor and thankfully we don’t have many fogs in Singapore so you will get a good view.
The cocktail session lasted for about an hour with host Linda Black talking about the series and engaging the guests with an interesting game. There was also a replica throne from the series that you have your picture taken with. Hahaha I had fun doing this.
One of the things I enjoyed, other than the premiere of the series was the finger food…..I mean how cool is this sword and shield biscuit man!
All in all it was nice meeting some familiar faces and I appreciate the invite from Atiqah and Angela but the best thing was to catch up with Karen, an old friend of mine that I got to know during my time in radio. She’s one of the nicest people in the industry and I’m really happy to see that she’s doing ok!
Oh this was probably the coolest part of attending the event, the doorgift, which is a letter opener in the form of a replica sword from the series.
