On 13 Nov 10, I will make my crossover from Ex-Radio DJ to fashion designer. This has been in the making since march of this year where me and the guys at Etrican sat down and started work on this ED-08 project.
The thing that drew me to it was the fact that Etrican is an Eco Friendly fashion label, the material for it’s products is organic cotton and it’s alot more comfortable that regular cotton. It was this unique approach to fashion that really caught my attention.
What you see me wearing in the photo is the flagship design of ED-08, which is a character I created inspired by my love for Japanese Anime, robots, fantasy and music. It’s meant to be a robot from the future made of recycled parts like turntables, bomboxes and speakers.
It’s quite the fantasy concept we built up, somewhat like a cartoon character of it’s own. That’s what I want to represent my stand on Eco friendliness. It’s a character made up of music, which is a big part of my life and a character that stands for being environmentally responsible.
I’m no natural fashion designer but based on the friendship, professionalism and respect that we had for one another, the team at Etrican and myself managed to come up with 5 designs which will be unveiled at the launch at Orchard Central on Saturday 13 Nov, 4pm. Etrican will also be launching their brand new woman’s collection called Midnight Garden.
