This was a show that us hosts dream of, a chance to introduce a world class act to the media. Thanks to Sony Music I had the chance to host the 2010 Singtel Singapore GP Daughtry Press Conference.
I’ve only once watched the band live a few years back in an all acoustic performance but to be this close to the band was a huge experience.
The band shared many things with the press, like their dream cars (Chris wants a Batmobile) as well as the food and performance to expect.
Among other questions asked, the band touched on the name of their own Formula 1 team (if they had one) would be, the band could not think of any off their mind and decided to go with their band name, citing lack of brain power in the morning.
It was a press conference after all so check out the media in front of Daughtry and the 4 cameras I got to share some air time with.
A plaque was presented to the band in recognition of the album Leave This Town which has achieved Gold status in Singapore for sales of more than 5,000 copies.
According to the band, it is the first album that they recorded as a band, as their self-titled debut album was recorded before the band was formed and only featured lead singer Chris Daughtry as an official member.
As a fan, it was an amazing 30mins for me.
