The July issue of POPCulture Online has been released and it’s been a month of hard work with a dash of good fortune. It wasn’t easy getting to this month’s issue, especially the cover. I mean who would have thought that we’d get permission to feature Japanese Singing sensation May’n on the cover.
I swear when the cover was being designed, we took extra care, more than usual in fact, haha I guess that’s because deep down inside the POP Crew are all her fans and we didn’t want to disappoint so I’m very proud of the end product and I hope we have done justice to her for gracing our cover page.
Well here’s what you can expect in this month’s issue, we speak to Tom Hanks about his new movie Larry Crowne, which turned out to be a very pleasant experience. He’s a pretty down to earth and funny guy and you just relate to him while he’s speaking, it’s like you wish he was your super cool dad.
We were also invited to the opening of the new AKB48 Concept Cafe at *scape, the first of it’s kind in the world. The opening was graced by 3 members of team 4 of AKB48, they are Maria Abe, Haruka Shimazaki, and Miyu Takeuchi. We chat with them and ask them about their inspirations for wanting to be a part of this music and entertainment industry and they also have a special message for our readers. You can check out the article here.
I’m still getting the hang of twitter so I can update you guys whenever I’m at interviews or press conferences, it’s actually quite fun and I wish I had started sooner but hey, better late then never right.
This photo was taken while I was at the AKB48 Cafe waiting for lunch to be served. Haha thanks to the PR agency who got the spelling of my name right, yup there are 2 Ts….not that I’m fussy but it is my name and I’ve had bounced emails because one T was missing. Oh after the interview we followed the girls out for a walk along orchard road, we went past Takashimaya right up to Ion where there was actually a crowd waiting and following behind. The girls distributed flyers about their concert and shook hands to say hi to the Saturday crowd, it was quite nice especially with all the fans following behind.
My photographer had to perform some stunts in order to zig zag through the crowd in order to get the best pics so make sure you read the article. Oh I sort of played photographer’s assistant……I held the big white lens. Haha!
Souvenir shot! Hahaha for my collection of photos with international celebs, I’ll show you at the end of the year.
We also spoke to Charice, the little girl with a big voice or you might know her as Sunshine on Glee. Really nice lady and a great interview. she’s come a long way and it’s nice to see how she wants that to shine through as an inspiration to all.
Well the teams worked hard on this issue and I really hope to read all about it, we’ve got music reviews, game reviews and an interview with an upcoming band as well as The Faces of Audio Techinca winners. It’s a fun read this one and it’s all thanks to you!
