As 2010 draws to a close, I’ll be looking back at the year and talking more about some of the things I’ve done, changes I’ve made and also some of the stars I’ve met this past year.

But for now I have to tell you about how I’ll be starting 2011. I’ve been so excited about this having spent some time putting this together and finally see it take shape this past week. Though it is not officially launched, I am proud to say that my first project for 2011 is an online pop culture magazine simply titled POPCulture Online. Something I founded with my old friend Kenneth Wong who is also the official photographer for my website.

It all began on a Sunday afternoon over an Iced lemon tea and Sprite. Two good friends were having a drink at a local fast food joint were having a discussion about a pop culture event they just attended. One topic led to another and soon the idea of a simple website about pop culture as a side project to consolidate the various materials and information as hobbyists into an online presence.

The idea sounded like something the two friends could handle and as issues were ironed out, ideas turned into reality and POPCulture online was born.

POPCulture Online will take a “For Fans By Fans” direction in all that we do and touch on. While we do not expect to be able to churn out top grade professional material like the stuff we pay for as hobbyists, we would like to promise  you, our readers, that the POPCulture Online team aka The Pop Crew will strive to do the best that we can.

Here is the first look at the cover of our Jan 2011 issue with special thanks to Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Singapore who made it possible for us to put Olivia Wilde on the cover and feature her along with Beau Garrett as our main story.

That’s not all because Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Singapore have also been kind enough to give us exclusive Tron Legacy Premiums like posters, memo pads, postcards, LED coasters and even the official movie soundtrack by Daft Punk. Plus the TOP PRIZE that will be up for grabs is a TRON EVOLUTION XBOX 360 GAME!

The contest will be open for participation come 21 Dec and we should have a winner by the time we officially launch the magazine over the Christmas weekend.

To find out how to win these Tron Legacy Premiums, visit the contest page here.

POPCulture Online will officially launch 25 Dec and as we lead up to the date I’ll tell you more about what you can expect. We look forward to your support!

Danker out!
