In the previous blog post I talked about the Odin replica from Hottoys. Well as part of my “Avengers Assemble” project, I needed to get a replica of Black Widow. Now I was very very hesitant on this for months because I didn’t want a Barbie doll in my collection.

However after reading many reviews online and looking at upclose pictures as well, I realised that it is a pretty good replica and worthy of the colleciton.

I think maybe with the hair, I might need to use a bit of wax to style it but the facial features are pretty realistic. It does look like Scarlett Johansson when she portrayed the character in Iron Man 2. I especially like the shade of dark blue for the costume and the material is as skin tight as in the movie.

Definately a good representation as an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. with the bracelets on her wrists to her guns and her belt.

The figure is also a lot more posable compared to the other human form figures I’ve purchased like Odin or Batman but I suppose with her being a woman and her clothes not as thick as the armors the other figures wear, she’s meant to be more posable.

Lastly, check out those boots. Now those are cool man, although coming back to her hair, I’m thinking I might leave the messy look, it’s not that bad maybe just imagine she’s posing after a fight, can’t possibly have neat hair all the time right.

So I’ve left her posing with my Iron Man Mark VI and now we’re just waiting for Thor to arrive before the rest of the replicas for The Avengers get released. I’ve also added War Machine to the shelf just to make the numbers for now, he has a place in the Hall of Armors below anyway.

Here’s the current view of my shelf, My Batman DX02 has been shifted to another shelf where he stands with the Tumbler, I’ll probably use that shelf for DC figures since I’m expecting the Hottoys Superman 1978 replica.

At that time of course Christopher Reeves played Superman and to me he is still the one and only Superman there will ever be, I doubt anyone can replace him so getting that figure has a lot of sentimental value.

So as you can see, Thor will fit itto the second shelf while Odin will stay up top. Robocop remains there for now since he is my most valuable Hottoys replica.

The third and forth shelf will have enough space to house the Iron Man Mark V and Mark 2 unleashed when they are released later this year. So far so good, still no need to buy a new shelf.
