Here’s my foray into toy photography! Well not really, I try…haha! For starters, all the photos taken in this post is by the Canon IXUS 220 HS and on the Super Vivid mode.
Hot Toys recently released an Ironman replica I’ve long been waiting for – The Mark V! This one is the suitcase transformable armor used by Tony Stark in Ironman 2.
The Super Vivid mode on the IXUS 220 HS really brings out the red for this replica and you can see the detail that goes into it. A lot of work on the part of the sculptors to make sure it’s movie accurate, if not why would anyone pay over 200 bucks for this.
This collectors limited edition drew lots of pre-orders because it was the most unique of all the Hot Toys Ironman replicas due to the design of the suit resembling the Centurion Armor from the comics.
This is pretty much the standard pose which most people use for this replica but you’ll find that the joints are quite flexible and there are a number of variations in poses which you can use.
I must say though that if I had better lighting conditions or the right know how on toy photography, I could probably show you how nice the detail is. I guess from this angle you can see how the helmet has all the “joints” due to the armor being a foldable one.
And here’s how I did it, 2 white cock boards, one for the base and the other for the backdrop then just crop it accordingly. I believe I should have 2 white spotlights shinning on the Mark V for that studio shot effect. Perhaps next time I’ll try that.
The Mark V also comes with the suitcase and mind you it is all to scare. Makes a great display peace alongside the Marks 1 to 6 if you have the entire collection.
