Here’s a little something I did a few weeks ago. I was part of a sharing session on Eco Fashion pretty much speaking about my Eco label, ED-08 and I also answered various questions about organic cotton and doing your part to save the Earth.
This was all part of a bigger cause and that was charity. You see a dance extravaganza covering numerous dance and interesting workshops was organized and took place at the Bellydance Discovery studios to raise funds for the recent disaster in Japan.
Minna Issho or Everybody Together was organized by a group of volunteers in association with Give.sg and Bellydance Discovery with the idea of bringing everyone together in dance and all things inspired by Japan and return that inspiration to those affected by the earthquakes and tsunami.
The Dance Buffet was a day dance extravaganza covering over 15 forms of dance and numerous interesting workshops, with lots of fun & a good workout. What participants were in for was within a day to try out as many classes as they want. Not only that, the participants are encouraged to dance and exercise.
It wasn’t all just dancing or learning different forms of dance as they got to meet people from different walks of life and discover new things and art forms. The duration for each class was about 45mins so it was a bit like a massive workshop with people walking in a out of dance studios at Bellydance Discovery within the full day. And I got to speak at one of these classes.
I think the nicest part about the entire day was the amount of support people gave to the event. Although you can compare it to the more extravagant or celebrity filled charity events, I liked the community spirit that was shown at Bellydance Discovery.
Really these guys love dance and they were more than ready to share their inspiration for dance at this Dance Buffet. I’m already looking forward to the next one.

Danker out!
