Happy New Year to one and all! I figured that since it’s the start of a brand new year, let’s look at some benchmarks created in 2010. How will 2011 shape up for these celebs and will some old or perhaps new faces rise above them to come out tops in 12 months time.
Well here are the Top 5 in my opinion.
No. 5 Lea Michele
I’ll be honest, I’m not a big fan of Glee but I know the rest of the world is and no doubt 2010 was the year Lea Michele became a household name.
Lea saw her role as the ambitious Rachel Berry break away from the rest of the pack during the show’s second season. And now with a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a TV Series, Comedy or Musical, her career is really starting to take off.
2011 forecast: Will soar to new heights
No. 4 Leonardo DiCaprio
The only male in the top 5, 2010 wasn’t just a good year for the actor, it was phenomenal.
Not only did he star in one of the top-grossing movies of the year, Inception, the combined total of $1.1 billion his flicks earned made him the biggest box-office earner of 2010.
2011 forecast: Leonardo will be producing Red Riding Hood, looks like he’s going to be more than just an awesome actor
No. 3 Emma Watson
When we all saw her in the first Harry Potter movie we know she was going to be a promising actress but years later shes also all grown up and absolutely gorgeous.
Now not only did the actress enjoy the massive success of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1 (the flick made more than $275 million at the box office) she landed roles in high-profile flicks like My Week With Marilyn and expanded her modeling career with the label Burberry.
2011 forecast: Do i really need to tell you she’s just gonna get better
No. 2 Sandra Bullock
It was a year of both incredible highs (An Oscar win and a baby!) and difficult lows for the actress (her divorce with Jesse James). But in the end, the good outweighed the bad, which she handle with grace.
I’ve been a big fan since i first saw her in Speed and she truly deserves to be in the Top 5.
2011 forecast: Back to comedy in the movie Kiss and Tango
No. 1 Katy Perry
Looks like it’s the year of women as Katy Perry is top of the charts!
This year was definitely dreamlike for the singer. Not only did her album, Teenage Dream , debut at No. 1 and go on to sell millions of copies around the world, she also tied the knot with her hubby Russell Brand in a lavish ceremony in India.
Definitely a year worth celebrating.
2011 forecast: She voices Smurfette in The Smurfs, although I think most fanboys would much rather see her on screen for real than doing a voice over.
Danker out!
