The Day the Earth Stood Still is a reinvention of its 1951 classic. Keanu Reeves portrays Klaatu, an alien whose arrival on our planet triggers a global upheaval.
As governments and scientists race to unravel the mystery behind the visitor’s appearance, a woman (Jennifer Connelly) and her young stepson get caught up in his mission and come to understand why Klaatu has come to “save the earth.”
Heavy on special effects, but without a coherent story at its base, The Day the Earth Stood Still is subpar re-imagining of the 1951 science-fiction classic.

Interesting film and logical in the reason why any alien being would want to destroy the Earth’s population but watch out for the scene where there are two Aliens talking in McDonalds in Chinese!
