It was nice being back to host the fourth Habitat-Barclays Bare Your Sole! It also marked a reunion for me and Sebastian who is now with Football Channel as we hosted the event together for the 3rd time (Although it’s his forth time hosting).
The event was graced by Guest of Honor, Mr. Dhanabalan, Patron of Habitat for Humanity Singapore.
Habitat for Humanity inaugurated Bare Your Sole in 2009, to highlight the plight of the poor in our region, and to commemorate its beneficiaries, many of whom, still go without shoes.
Habitat for Humanity has built and renovated more than 400,000 homes, providing more than 2 million people with safe, decent, affordable shelter – one of mankind’s most basic necessities.
In Singapore, Habitat for Humanity’s work includes Operation Homeworks – which is a monthly clean-up of the elderly’s one-room flats, as well as sending teams overseas to the numerous building projects in the Asia-Pacific region.
Taking place at The Gardens by the Bay for the second year running, this years event saw an increase in participants yet again with the number up to 5000 people this time.
Other notable guests that morning included Paul Foster – Ambassador for Habitat for Humanity Singapore. performances from Nathan Hartono as well as SMU’s Samba Masala.
