The weekend has drawn to a close and here’s one event I attended on Saturday afternoon. There was a cosplay competition held at Central, Clark Quay and I’ve been looking forward to this for a while now.
Being an Anime fan, I must say that more cosplay events I attend, the more I begin to understand the entire culture behind it and it is truely amazing.
So here’s a run down of the event in pictures (courtesy of Kenneth) Starting off with the 2 hosts.
She looks all dressed up for the lolita fashion show which took place after the competition.
The other host is Japanese by the way, that really got the competition in the mood esp with all the anime soundtracks being played.
Here are some of the contestants striking their various character poses. That was one of the requirements of the competition. It’s not just knowing your character and getting the outfit right, you also gotta get their trademark poses right.
A group shot of all the contestants and the Judges. The person of the far left in jeans is Mr Shawn Chin, Director of the Anime Festival Asia 2008. As you can see, this event provides a good build up to the big festival in Nov taking place at Suntec City.
Well that just about did it for my Saturday, love the costumes and I gotta tell you….these guys really put in alot of effort into making them. *Respect*
Danker out!
