Singapore’s local celebrities such as Tay Ping Hui, Elvin Ng, Allan Wu, Wong Li-Lin, Felicia Chin, Jacelyn Tay, Dai Yang Tian and Yvonne Lim will be demonstrating their git wrapping skills at Orchard Central (OC) on December 4 and 11, 2010 from 12pm to 2pm. They will be wrapping gifts provided by OC tenants and shoppers can bid for these gifts on both days. All proceeds will go to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (Singapore) (MDAS).
The programme on those two days will also include performances from MDAS, an interactive session with the public, gift wrapping with the celebrities and the public bidding session. Asked why they chose MDAS, an OC representative said: “We chose MDAS because we wanted to create more awareness to a lesser known charitable association.”
This event is part of a number of events being held by OC called Christmas with an OC Attitude (which ends December 31, 2010). There is also an All Gifts Wrapped Contest where the person who can wrap the most presents using just a piece of OC wrapper walks away with S$500 worth of prizes. This event will be held on 5, 12, 18 and 19 December, 2010, at 12pm to 2pm.
