Second year I’m hosting the Miss Earth Singapore Coronation night and this year the venue was at StereoLab. That place has mini burgers that are highly recommended…..haha! So me and my entourage gathered and had some mini burgers before the show.

18 ladies were vying for the Miss Earth Singapore crown and a chance to represent Singapore in the international finals held in Vietnam on 5 Dec. This years event was as always organized by C.T. Hansen International P/L but with an added glam factor in the form of co-organizers Beam Artistes. My co-host was Elaine Daly from Beam Artistes and you may recognize her from the TV Series “Silver lining”

Many guest performers were on hand that night as well including my old friend Douglas O! Still looking and sounding great, he rocked with crowd with “Summer of 69” and “Change the world”.

Back to business, the 18 ladies were cut down from 18 to 8 and then to the final 4. Each with a chance to the titles Miss Earth Singapore Fire, Air and Water and of course the main title of Miss Earth Singapore 2010.

A final round of questions were asked by the judges, Timothy Go, Samuel Seow, Howard Shaw, Marco De Miranda, Cheryl Hansen and Tara Rushton…….depending on which judge the ladies chose of course.

While the judges tallied the scores we introduced last years winners on stage for a final walk as well as a short interview with Miss Valarie Lim, Miss Earth Singapore 2009 who did Singapore proud by making it into the last 16 at the international competition.

Hey that was it, the crowd was still anticipating the results but we had one more act to bring on and that was none other than Leena Salim who is one amazing singer I tell you! She is a true performer of the highest standards!

In the end there can be only one as we crowned Miss Maricelle Wong the winner and Miss Earth Singapore 2010!

Congrats to all 18 finalists on a job well done! Till next year, remember every little bit counts, together we can help save the Earth!

Danker out!
