Well it would seem that I’m building a corner of superhero weapons at home. All this at my workstation where I’ve added Mjolnir, the mystical hammer of Thor to my weaponry of Captain America’s shield and Iron Man’s helmet.
This find was sitting quietly in a corner at Simply Toys, Plaza Singapura. It’s got these words engraved on it just like in the comic books
Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of THOR
How cool is that right? Thor of course is the son of Odin and a God from Asgard. He is also one of the Avengers in the marvel comic books and he uses Mjolnir is to control his weather abilities; flight; energy projection and absorption; dimensional travel; matter manipulation and the most powerful of his offensives, the God Blast (which taps into Thor’s life force and has driven back a weakened Galactus), the Thermo-blast (which has challenged Ego the living planet), and the Anti-Force (which counteracts another force).
Using Mjolnir, Thor can also travel at supersonic speeds (Just like Iron Man) in Earth’s atmosphere and travel faster than light in space.
A film based on the character and comic is scheduled to be released in May, 2011. It is currently in post-production with Kenneth Branagh (Wild WIld West) directing and Chris Hemsworth (Star Trek) starring as Thor. Hemsworth is also contracted to reappear as Thor in the film, The Avengers set to be released in 2012.
